2022 Texas Crab Festival PRESENTS

The Texas Crab Fest brings together a variety of artists for a Mother’s Day weekend of gulf coast style Music, Art and Crabs on May 6-8, 2022 in Crystal Beach, Texas.

George Dearborne at the 2022 Texas Crab Festival

Taking the stage at 7:15pm is George Dearborne and the Branded. They are a country band who travel across Texas and Louisiana to share fantastic toe tapping country music. They have a new album released “Old Brown Bottle”. George began his music career sitting behind a drum kit in the 70’s. He is one of the “Boys from Beaumont” with Mark Chesnutt and Tracey Byrd playing the infamous Cutter’s Bar. Now you can see George Dearborne and the Branded at such Texas Venues at Billy Bobs, Lil Reds Longhorn Saloon in Fort Worth, the 11th Street Cowboy Bar in Bandera and Moes’ Place in Katy.

Bag Of Donuts at the 2022 Texas Crab Festival

At 9:30pm, we welcome back Bag of Donuts, a New Orleans party band that taps into the city’s long tradition of costumes and great music to bring New Orleans to wherever you are. Highly skilled musicians with a flair for the fantastical, they play all the classics. Together, these hits are what Bag of Donuts calls Superpop, a genre of “just the hits”, from the 60’s all the way through today, “suped” up in a new and exciting way. The party is contagious; as the guys on stage go wild in their outlandish costumes, crowds of friends and strangers alike find themselves comfortable letting loose. Bag of Donuts promises an atypical experience that audience members of all ages and types can groove to.

Pure Atlantic at the 2022 Texas Crab Festival

Saturday’s band entertainment heats up with Pure Atlantic at Noon. The students from Lamar Port Arthur College are led by Carl Richardson their commercial music instructor. Pure Atlantic is the Commercial Music division’s most visible performing ensemble. The group has regular bookings both on campus and throughout the Golden Triangle. Past performances include The South Texas State Fair, Logon Café, Madisons, Dylans, The Nederland Heritage Festival, Riverfest, PA Mardi Gras, and the Groves Pecan Festival among others.

Salty Sounds Band from Galveston Island takes the stage at 3:15. Enjoy a performance of mixed music genres, skilled musicians and solid vocals. 100% live music show. Thick As Thieves at the 2022 Texas Crab Festival

The Band Thick as Thieves is playing at 5:30pm. The group led by Walt Moore is committed to bringing an energetic mix of hit pop, rock, and Motown from the 1960’s through current Top 40; staying true to the original music the way you remember it. Music has a way of taking you back to a time of dancing in your bedroom to your record player, first dance, first kiss, first car, etc. and you can expect Thick As Thieves to deliver that same feeling with hits from bands such as Journey, Jefferson Starship, Warrant, Donna Summer, Kenny Loggins and modern hits from artists such as Adele, Bruno Mars, Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town.

David Joel at the 2022 Texas Crab Festival

David Joel goes on stage at 7:45pm. David was raised in Beaumont, TX and first picked up a guitar at the age of 9. With hard work, persistence, and a little divine intervention, David launched his music career playing fairs and festivals, clubs, bars, restaurants and casinos. David’s musical talents, high energy, and friendly outgoing personality keep his audiences entertained and kicking up their heels. The good-looking, country rocker will never fail to get the party started and keep it going all night.

Wayne Toups at the 2022 Texas Crab Festival

The evening is headlined by Louisiana and Gulf Coast Museum’s Hall of Fame member Wayne Toups who takes the stage at 10:00pm. Toups is one of most commercially successful American Cajun Singers of all time with a career highlighted at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards in 2013. He returns with his unique brand of Cajun, Zydeco, R&B, and Rock music. Wayne, the Cajun Springsteen, has toured the world to include 26 countries. He has played the New Orleans Jazz Festival for 27 consecutive years. He performed at the 1990 Super Bowl. He always has a home here at Crystal Beach.

La Mentira Nortena at the 2022 Texas Crab Festival

At 2:00 we welcome La Mentira Norteña, a Norteño Band Founded in 2016. Based In Houston Texas, they have traveled all over the US to provide Clients with their great Music. 6 Artists Including Martin as the singer, Daniel as the Sound Engineer, Noel as Accordeonist, Juan as Bajosextero, Antonio as Drummer, and Enrique as Bass Player.

Bayou Sounds at the 2022 Texas Crab Festival

We are thrilled to conclude with local favorite Bayou Sounds at 4:00 pm. Authentic Cajun Music – back porch style with a party in mind. Bayou Sounds is a familiar group on the Bolivar music scene, and will bring the 2022 Texas Crab Festival to a fitting close.

The Texas Crab Festival is May 6-8, 2022 at Festival Park, located at 1605 Highway 87, Crystal Beach, Texas. All-day admission is $10 Friday, $15 Saturday and FREE on Sunday. Kids 15 and under are always FREE. Parking is also FREE.
