The Texas Crab Festival Committee selected the winners in the annual TCF T-shirt design contest for 2024. The first place design will be printed on the official 2024 Texas Crab Festival T-shirt which will be available for purchase as early as next month. The runner-up design will be printed on the “Crab Patrol” T-shirts worn by all volunteers at the festival. A Big Thanks to the artists who participated in this time honored TCF tradition. Congratulations to the winners!

Winner – Patricia Hagstrom
Patty is a well known local artist and past winner of the contest. She has been painting and exhibiting her work in the U.S. and International scene for over 25 years. Born in the mountains of Bradford, PA, Patty has an intuitive appreciation of nature. Her academic background began with a BS degree from Villa Maria College in Erie, PA and a BFA degree from Dominican College in Houston. She then pursued her advanced art studies with a scholarship from Gonzaga University in Florence, Italy and obtained her Masters Degree from the University of Houston.

Runner Up – Jerry Goen
Jerry is a graphic designer by trade. Texas Crab Festival visitors are familiar with his designs, selected as winners the last three years. His family had a place near Rollover Pass and he began visiting Bolivar at an early age where he would fish and spend lots of family gatherings. But, like so many others, Hurricane Ike changed all that. He has hopes to rebuild a home on the very same lot, with the intention of living there permanently, creating art design and putting down roots in the Bolivar Peninsula Community.
